Been a hell of a year, hasn’t it?

I’d like to say I’ve been busy with all manner of projects, but it’s really just been Somnipathy pre-release, release, and post-release activities.

But as my involvement with the Somnipathy project comes to a close at the end of this year (something I’ll do a proper retrospective around Christmas time as part of my end of year sign-off) I wanted to take some time to go over some of the smaller side projects I’ve been working on even as game development took over all of my non-day-job bandwidth.

What have I done this year?:

  • Overhauled this very website; it’s much easier to navigate and get to my stories these days.
  • Completed edits on The PsyEn Project Phase 1 in conjunction w/ my editor; these are now in their final form, more or less.
  • Found out I am one of the finalists in the Rusty Quill podcast network’s Rusty Fears 6 Horror Writing Competition, where I won the prompt category “Game Show”; apparently the audio version of the finalist winners will be posted sometime in January/February 2024.
  • Of course delivered on the release of Somnipathy, the first full video game I’ve ever written; hoping to never have to write anything that long again!

What else am I doing this year?:

  • I started participating in Inktober this year – writing small vignettes about Witches relating to each prompt on the official list; I’m obviously a little bit behind on this but I’ll have those done in a week or two.
    • These will go up on this website as a single collection of shorts after Aerugo and I clean the stories up somewhat
  • I will be focusing my efforts on Silence & Vanity: A Banquet of Monsters for the rest of December and probably most of January.
  • Finish and Release the Epilogue of Somnipathy

Projections for 2024:

  • Q1: Finish Silence & Vanity: A Banquet of Monsters; Start Hyperpop Apocalypse
  • Q2: Start and Finish Insight: Colourless Green
  • Q3: Start and Finish Beasts of the Western Horizon
  • Q4: Publish PsyEn Project Phase 1 in e-book form; Finish Hyperpop Apocalypse

We’ll see how close we can get to meeting these projections!
